Frequently Asked Questions

The FAAC 390 230V is ideal for lightweight residential swing gates, such as single or double leaf driveway gates at private homes. It is designed for properties where gate usage is moderate, and the gate leaf is not excessively long or heavy.

An electromechanical actuator uses an electric motor combined with a mechanical arm to push and pull the gate leaf open and closed. The arm is mounted between the gate post and the gate leaf and extends or retracts to swing the gate in the required direction.

The FAAC 390 230V is designed to swing gate leaves up to a maximum opening angle of approximately 90 to 110 degrees, which is sufficient for standard residential driveway entry and exit. We can confirm the exact travel range based on your gate's geometry.

Yes, like most swing gate actuators, the arm mechanism is externally mounted and visible on the inner face of the gate. However, FAAC designs its actuators to be compact and unobtrusive, so the visual impact is minimal, particularly when painted to match the gate colour.

Yes. Two units can be installed — one on each gate leaf — and synchronised through a compatible FAAC control board to ensure both leaves open and close simultaneously and smoothly.
